My Drumming Style

Pocket drummer, I’m all about feel and groove. I am super comfortable and feel I’m pretty good at the following styles:

  • Rock

  • Reggae

  • Folk

  • Country

  • Blues

  • Soul/R&B

I would not hire me for: Metal, Jazz, super crazy Chops drumming, it’s just not my bag and neither of us would have fun. I’ll study the material if given to me in the proper amount of time, I’ll say no if it’s not a good fit, and I genuinely will work hard to make your music the best it can be.

My Violin Style

The sessions I love the most are when I can listen down to the track and play one whole pass over the music (if the music/song has already been recorded). Then I will go back and do that a few times and then start to comp together really good takes. Styles I feel really comfortable playing:

  • Singer Songwriter/Americana

  • Blues

  • Rock

  • Bluegrass

  • Soul

  • Classical/reading music

I can read music as well and have gear to record at home and am happy to fly in stems to wherever you are located. I also arrange string parts.

Examples of string arrangements can be found on playlist or bandcamp link located on this page: World is Broken (Topher James and Biscuit Brigade), Good Sense (Joey Hebdo), Oh My God (Fables), Younger Man’s Rule (Andy Shaw Band).

My Vocal Style

I really enjoy arranging background vocals especially for soul R&B but also can sing lead and harmony on a ton of styles. I have written and arranged every single background vocal part for Topher James and Biscuit Brigade with very few exceptions. You can also hear my background arrangements and performance on this track “I Am Here” by Paisha Thomas below.

The playlist/links above are projects I’ve worked on over the years. Some tracks are more fiddle, some more classical in nature, some layered strings as well. Check them out to see the variety of my style. Topher James and Biscuit Brigade is my band which I have arranged strings on a few tracks including “World is Broken”.
