Best iPhone music related software.

No one can deny the iPhone is a beast for great applications. Being as music is my thing, I’ve rounded up and quickly reviewed my favorite iPhone music applications. Please note: this isn’t a top 10 list. It’s just a list of my favorites.

Great application for guitarists, or to settle those perfect pitch arguments (?) With this app you can either output a pure tone from your iPhone speaker at whatever pitch you want, or use the in built mic to tune up. Decent graphics and easy to use.

Very nice audio recorder. Can e-mail from within the program or connect the iPhone to your mac to pull off the recordings. Can store recordings in categories, so if your a monster for recording stuff, this will be useful. What else… can record up to 44.1 khz and has the option to use a transcribe function which will surprisingly, transcribe any voice audio.

Looks beautiful! Works like a charm. If I’m honest I don’t use it. It’s easier to use my macbook to make crappy demos than this. Either way it looks sexy. It’s worth a look.

Oh god, this is insanely addictive. Plug in ear phones or better yet plug your iPhone into your Hi-Fi and BAM BAM BAM CRASH. smile.

I actually used this in an electro track I did recently. This synth is +10. Really great sound, really versatile. Can set the key to play in, can overlay a grid to make it easier to play and the robot looks as cool as a robot in a bow tie. Love this.

Overloads at serious levels of volume, but works really well at lower levels. Also, can change between weighted and unweighted measurements. Cool for finding the quietest place in the house to record that all important hushed acoustic part. I say crank the preamps.

This application simply called Balls generates quality random art tunes. You can change the gravity, friction, number of balls and numerous other variables which will change the overall feel of the “music”. Love messing around with this late at night. It’s a hit with those who ingest the bungie (know what I’m saying?).

What a cool little toy. Touch screen super fiddly guitar or bass with effects. Really silly, but surprisingly responsive. I play guitar and I go back to this occasionally to remind myself of how far I’m come as a guitarist. This thing will set you back in time to the days of what the hell is a minor chord.
Cheers for this revelatory entry. I am constantly looking for material on different subjects and it’s rarely far away on the interweb. I’ll be coming back soon.
